Tunisan Kendo League

The Tunisian Kendo League (TKL) is a non-profit sports organization which promotes the disciplines of Kendo and iaido in Tunisia.

The TKL is a member of the International Kendo Federation (IKF) and therefore has responsibility for the management, practice and dissemination of the Kendo and iaido disciplines.

As a member of the IKF, the TKL is the only organization recognized by Zen Nihon Kendo Renmei which is the Japanese National Federation, undisputed leader in the world for the disciplines exercised.


Kendo (剣道kendōlit. ‘sword way’, ‘sword path’ or ‘way of the sword’) is a traditional Japanese martial art, which descended from swordsmanship (kenjutsu) and uses bamboo swords (shinai) and protective armour (bōgu). Today, it is widely practiced within Japan and many other nations across the world.


Iaidō (居合道), abbreviated with iai (居合), is a Japanese martial art that emphasizes being aware and capable of quickly drawing the sword and responding to a sudden attack.
